Eo Gio is about 20km away from Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh (Bình Định) province. Eo Gio can be reached by a variety of transportation options. But the most convenient transportation for you to reach Eo Gio from Quy Nhon is a motorbike. The motorbike rental service is common and easy in Vietnam as long as you bring your identity card or other important personal documents. Paying about 100,000VND – 120,000VND, you can hire a motorbike and travel freely to beautiful places of Quy Nhon.

Here is the instruction on how to reach Eo Gio by motorbike. First, you have to cross Thi Nai (Thị Nại) Bridge and then go along on Vo Nguyen Giap (Võ Nguyên Giáp) road. Turn left and follow the National Road 19B, about 10km. Here you will see a Nhon Hoi (Nhơn Hội) crossroad. Turn right to go to the center of Nhon Ly. Go straight until the People’s Committee of Nhon Ly appears in front of your eyes. From here, tourists and visitors can leave their motorbike at the nearby house of the local people and walk about 100m to reach Eo Gio Bay.

Why This Place Has The Name “Eo Gio”

The name “Eo Gio” comes from its geographic location. This place features the blue sea, imposing high cliffs and great mountains that have the shape of a bow. Surrounded by two high mountains and blue sea, Eo Gio looks like a saddle. It is a reason why local people here call it “Eo Gio” that means “The strait of the wind”.

If you have time, it is great to stand on the Thi Nai Bridge and overlook the beautiful panoramic view of Quy Nhon city that looks like a colorful painting before you come to Eo Gio beach. Thi Nai Bridge with a length of 2,500m is the longest sea-crossing bridge in Southeast Asia. For a long time, this bridge has become the pride of local people living in Quy Nhon. On Thi Nai Bridge, you can also see the fishing village with hardworking fishermen in Nhon Ly commune. And you will be definitely astonished at the scenes of desert sand, imposing cliffs, white clouds, blue sky, etc, that create a beautiful picture of this breezy and sunny land.

Eo Gio beach possesses majestic and unspoiled beauty. It is as beautiful as other beaches in the Central of Vietnam. Surrounded by rocked mountains, Eo Gio is an untouched pristine place but it strengthens the tourist’s desire to conquer and discover. Tourists coming here will be astonished at the rocky cliffs and mountains with strange shapes, extremely clear blue water and beautiful sky that gives tourists a peaceful feeling. Nothing is greater than relaxing on the beach and listening to the sea sound blowing in your ears.

It is an omission if you discover Eo Gio beach without conquering the wild mountains and cliffs. The undulating and rocky paths to the top of the mountain are quite difficult to go. You need to go step by step carefully. But when you reach the top of the mountain, everything is worth. You can see the vast sky covering the beautiful landscape of Eo Gio with your own eyes. Standing on the mountain, you can feel the wind blowing to your face and smell the salty taste coming from the sea.

Visiting Eo Gio is also a great opportunity for someone who likes watching the small coral reefs in the sea and colorful fishes in the blue water.

Here, you can meet hospital and friendly local people in an extremely peaceful fishing village that is not far from the sea. It will be great experiences for tourists and visitors to enjoy the seafood cooked by local people and take a freshwater bath. In this fishing village, it is great to visit the Buddhist temple that has the statue of Guan Yin and overlook the sea.

Eo Gio beach Quy Nhon in the early morning has the majestic and poetic beauty; therefore, tourists should camp overnight to see the beautiful sunrise that brings life and light to the whole land. For camping, you should choose a large area with green pasture near the foot of the mountain to spend time with your friends and families around the campfire and enjoy the prepared meals.
