3 February Park (Hue, Vietnam) situated on the Perfume River near Truong Tien Bridge (cầu Trường Tiền), in the center of Hue (Huế) city is a must-see relaxing green space that attracts not only domestic and international tourists. Therefore, if you have a chance to visit Hue, you should come to this place to enjoy the fresh atmosphere and participate in many fun activities.
3 February Park opens seven days a week with the free admission; therefore, you can come to the park at any time you want.
To watch people exercise around the park, you can visit here in the early morning or late afternoon. The evenings are also ideal time because, during this time, a popular night market is held, so you can go shopping and enjoy the best time in Hue.
Most people who visit the park often want to explore other attractions of Hue City, too. Therefore, I would like to recommend visiting during the spring season from February to April. During this time, the temperature is pleasant with less amount of rain than other months. So, you go sightseeing and experience in many activities without worrying that the rains or some weather difficulty will ruin your trip.
Vietnamese people call the park as “3 February” to honor the significant important events happening on the 3rd February 1968. On the 30th January 1968, the Viet Cong (Việt Cộng) joined with the force of the People’s Army of Vietnam to launch attacks on towns, cities, and villages in South Vietnam in a military operation called the Tet Offensive.
It was the bloodiest fighting that took place in Hue city and the bloodiest day on the 3rd February always exists in the mind of Vietnamese people. After that day, about 3,000 – 9,000 soldiers and 5,000 civilians died.
As the memorial park, the 3 February Park still keeps the poignant and subtle reminders of the absurdity and brutality of war in its sculptures. Many sculptures in the park show the images of people in strange and uncomfortable positions. For example, a woman is pulled by hands.
With the impressive sculptures, the park is a beautiful place not only for local people but also for international tourists enjoy. Visiting the park, you can relax under the shades of tree while watching the river.
In the park, a boat ride along the Perfume River is often arranged for local people and tourists to participate.
Strolling around the park, you will be astonished at the well-trimmed and trained bushes in a variety of shapes.
Around 6 am, you can see local people come here to exercise and jog around the park before the heat of the day shinning over the city, and they start a new day. 3 February Theme Park is very near the Imperial Tombs and the Imperial Citadel that are famous attractions in Hue City, therefore, from the park, you can visit these places.
Besides 3 February Park, Hue city also has many excellent and beautiful attractions to visit. Let’s take a journey to Hue City and enjoy the enjoyable experience here.
